Visual Communications Design Coordinator – September, 2011 through present
Medicine and Public Health Initiative (medph.org)
• Team with programmers to create user interfaces that are visually and technically savvy using WordPress
• Create informative publications such as newsletters as well as flyers and programs for annual meetings

Design Instructor – March 20, 2013 to March 4, 2016
Westwood College, VA 
• Inspired students to create portfolio pieces and self promotional packages and to align with their program requirements
• Created real world layout and design projects in conjunction with Smithsonian American Art Museum
• Introduced students to the local design community through a Design Studio / Ad Agency research project

• Created outstanding layouts for a wide variety of publications
• Convinced the public to participate in events with striking e-blasts
• Promoted the organization with attractive videos describing programs offered; added sparkle to social media with a dance video; directed and produced a United Way video for a meeting; directed and produced a video for the Bertha Alyce Early Childhood Center

• Pushed graphic design students in page layout, typography, and illustration to create their best

Broadcast Designer – October 8, 1996 through September 28, 2000
KHWB-TV Houston, Houston, Texas
• Initiated the use of non-linear editing for broadcast design using Adobe After Effects and a proprietary system called Accom Sphereous as well as a 3D animation software program called Electric Image
• Designed public service announcements, TV show promos, sports promos, station IDs and innovative print design and tchotchkes
• Won an award for a Rockets promo from Broadcast Designers Association
• Art director of my department for a period of nine months
• Learned how to used the paintbox for the Evening News and created OTS graphics
